XY Learning Center (XYLC), an XY Planning Network business line, will soon be opening a Child Care and Learning Center located in downtown Bozeman, MT. We are seeking a Director to help launch, lead and operate our expanding benefit offering to XY Planning Network and AdvicePay team members, as well as to parents in our community. About the Position:

As the Director, you will lead as a visionary for the center, accountable for complete oversight to ensure a safe, positive, caring, fun, and inviting environment for children, parents, and staff. You will oversee marketing and sales for new parents looking for care, local community engagement initiatives, hiring and managing team members, extending compassion and care to children and their families, and ensuring each child’s safety and well-being -- both physical and emotional. In this role, you’ll set the standard of your team to maintain a warm, gentle, and nurturing environment for children. Transparency and collaboration with parents will be essential to ensure effective and appropriate care for their children while at our facility.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in preparing the center’s setup, organization and flow to begin providing care to children of XYPN and AdvicePay team members by July 15, 2020 (pending licensure), expanding until the program is at capacity
  • Responsible for the vision of the program, developing new ways of engaging with parents and children, to build and grow the program
  • Hire staff and coordinate training to meet the criteria of state licensing and standards of the center. Complete ongoing training and courses to remain up to date on first aid, CPR, and any other necessary and/or required daycare standards.
  • Supervise child care staff, administer all programs, implement policy, and provide ongoing recommendations and feedback to the team
  • Continuously evaluate the program to establish improvement goals followed by a balance of mentoring and coaching to encourage staff participation
  • Document all appropriate information and hold records confidentially for each child
  • Maintain State of Montana’s Department of Public Health and Human Services licensure as a Center
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and local, state and federal laws and regulations while building strong relationships with all authorities
  • Manage the center’s budget
  • Actively engage children, parents, staff, and the community to maintain and grow enrollment

The Deets:

Start Date: Immediately

Status: Full-time (40-45 hours/week - the center hours will include early mornings, evenings and weekends to accommodate drop-in care, after school care, date nights for parents and summer day camps)

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $86,000 / year
    • Unlimited vacation days to maintain work-life harmony (we require that you take a minimum of 3 weeks of vacation per year)

    What You’ll Bring to the Table:

    • BA/BS ECE (preferred)
      • Other BA/BS or Assoc. ECE will be considered if combined with ECE experience
    • 3+ years experience teaching ECE or equivalent time in Child Care management
    • 2+ years experience managing people
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
    • Friendly and approachable demeanor
    • An understanding of and strong alignment with our core values
    • Cooperative, dependable work ethic and a high sense of personal responsibility and integrity
    • Excellent written, verbal and non-verbal English communication
      • Bilingual a plus
    • Proper vaccinations, per state regulations (MMR if born in 1957 or later and TDAP)
    • Infant, child, and adult CPR, First Aid, and Infant Safety Essentials certifications (or obtain within 30 days of hire)
    • Comfortable connecting with children of all ages, including infants
    • Ability to pass criminal, sex offender and domestic watch list background checks
    • Comfortable with technology – Computer / Google GSuite, including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc. / CRM (Child Care Manager)
    • Occasional local travel for meetings or other development and relation initiatives

        Licensing Requirements

        As the Director of XYLC, you will be required to meet the licensing requirements set forth by the State of Montana. Please ensure that you meet the requirements for The Practitioner Registry Level 4, or have the required experience to be Level 2 or Level 3:
