Position: Director of Finance (NEW POSITION)

Start Date: Immediate

Status: Full-time (Regular - Exempt)

Hours: 40-45 hours per week w/flexible schedule

Location: Bozeman, MT

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Job Description: 

XYPN is in search of a self-directed and experienced Director of Finance to oversee all financial and accounting activities for the organization and its subsidiaries. The successful candidate will be responsible for budget management, financial analysis, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and forward-looking financial forecasting (for existing and future new business lines). Key areas will also include financial policy and procedure compliance, and ongoing maintenance of financial best practices. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional who thrives in a busy work place, and is well-versed in working closely with senior management. The position will work closely with the Director of Operations, amongst other areas of the organization, including Human Resources.


Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development of and support the company’s strategic plans
  • Monitor the financial performance of the company
  • Monitor weekly and monthly cash balances, and prepare financial cash flow projections for the company
  • Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operational functions
  • Compile and analyze financial reports, such as the Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, Budget vs. Actual, etc...
  • Organize, streamline, and manage the General Ledger to ensure accurate and appropriate financial transaction assignments
  • Prepare monthly and annual operating budgets
  • Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
  • Communicate financial metrics to senior management, including the development of departmental budgets for fellow Directors to reference and assist in the management of each
  • Provide leadership and support to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll functions within the organization
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed, along with implementing new systems that are appropriate to the size and financial demands of our organization
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
  • Keep up-to-date on current Accounting Principles and applicable tax laws
  • Coordinate activities of external auditors, including our business tax preparer
  • Hire, train, and retain skilled finance team members in the future


    Requirements

    Required Qualifications:

    • CPA
    • 5+ years accounting experience in an accounting or financial management role
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
    • Experience in both backwards-looking budgeting and forwards-looking business and cash flow forecasting 
    • Strong organization, interpersonal and communication skills 
    • Impeccable analytical and organizational skills 
    • Self-motivated and self-directed 
    • Ability to work closely with Leadership and Executive teams

    What would make us drool:

    • Previous experience as Senior Finance Manager/Controller with 10+ years experience

    • Previous experience developing forward-looking business projections and financial dashboards

    • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or Sage Accounting Software

    Compensation & Benefits:

    • Salary: $85,000 / year 

    • Relocation assistance available, if applicable
