Job Description:

We are searching for a dynamic, enthusiastic and driven sales professional who will exemplify a passion for financial planning and promoting our organization and its benefits to prospective members. The Director of Business Development will lead their team in the pursuit of advancing our vision of expanding access to financial planning for young consumers (and the young advisors who want to bring it to them!).

This individual will oversee business development responsibilities, develop and maintain a lead/prospect pipeline, and serve as the primary liaison for all prospective XYPN members. They will handle inbound marketing leads via email and respond with appropriate resources, be responsible for tracking and following up with existing leads in the pipeline, help develop new initiatives to generate leads, schedule networking events, and create sales tracking sheets. In addition, they will initiate and facilitate introductory calls with prospective members so they can learn about XYPN, our mission, and the multitude of resources we provide to financial advisors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for new membership growth
  • Lead and develop our Sales team members across the organization
    • Keep the sales manual and lead closure process up-to-date
    • Be a point of contact to support questions from Sales team members
    • Recognize and remove roadblocks for Sales team
  • Provide sales analytics, pipeline analysis, forecasting, and sales results
    • Maintain and further develop our Hubspot sales dashboard and reporting
    • Own all sales system tools
  • Manage Sales team’s annual conference schedule and provide support to ensure they have the necessary materials for upcoming conferences
  • Collaborate with Marketing team to create resources, such as brochures and more, to help our prospective members understand the benefits of joining our network and how to grow their business as a result
  • Responsible for testing new business development opportunities to determine effectiveness along with launching new business development initiatives
  • Document notes, calls, meetings, and details within HubSpot
  • Manage exhibitor sales for #XYPNLIVE and other events


Required Qualifications:

  • Authorized to live and work in the United States
  • Previous experience with HubSpot or a similar CRM tool
  • Ability to create and manage sales data reporting, including tracking and reporting, via HubSpot and spreadsheets
  • Comfortable answering questions on the fly, but also must be comfortable saying “I don’t know” and finding answers when applicable
  • Driven to meet sales goals
  • Comfortable with new technology
  • Must be flexible, as daily tasks will quickly evolve with each prospect
  • Desire to support the growth of the next generation of financial planners

What would make us drool:

  • Previous experience in personal finance or experience related to financial advisor facing topics is a plus, but not necessary
  • Experience closing deals, making customers happy, and delivering on all promises made to them
  • Experience hiring and developing Sales team members

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $96,454 / year
