About the Position:

XYPN is in search of a full-time Director of Advisor Education to join the Member Success team in beautiful Bozeman, MT. In this role, you’ll lead a team of talented individuals focused on the delivery of top-notch educational content for XYPN advisors with a singular goal: helping those advisors build and run successful businesses and be more effective financial planners for their Gen X and Y clients.

As XYPN’s Director of Advisor Education, you will be responsible for building out our education strategy, platform, and team. To start, you’ll lead the Advisor Education team and be accountable for key deliverables; these deliverables include contributing to and overseeing the process of building online courses in our educational platform, XYPN Academy, managing XYPN’s top-rated coaching programs, and contributing to and overseeing the process of building tools for XYPN members to leverage in their practices.

Whether through one-on-one coaching, network-wide webinars, the development of new tools and resources, or through our educational platform, XYPN Academy, XYPN’s Advisor Education team is committed to providing the quality education advisors need to be successful. With this critical hire, our goal is to evolve the Advisor Success team and consistently and thoughtfully deliver preeminent content to our membership to help them launch, grow, and scale their financial planning businesses.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create and execute a content strategy that drives high engagement of XYPN’s member firms
Serve as editor-in-chief for all educational content to ensure quality, clarity, and consistency

  • Closely monitor learning metrics, and use insights from the data to iterate and improve initiatives
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, and leverage this knowledge in your content strategy
Collaborate with marketing, program, and relationship managers to communicate content to the Network
In conjunction with program management, manage the distribution of content across all channels
  • Manage and develop the Advisor Education team, which currently includes XYPN’s Executive Business Coach, Marketing Coach, Sales Coach, and (soon to be hired) Financial Planning & Process Coach
  • Manage an expanding team of content specialists, collaborate with senior management team members, and create new opportunities across our member engagements
  • Guide the long-term strategy for the Advisor Success team by analyzing the needs of each firm journey/business phase
  • Develop scorecards to measure engagement effectiveness at each firm journey/business phase
  • Recommend staffing needs for your team based on Network growth and member needs

Projects You’ll Own:

  • XYPN’s Annual Benchmarking Study; you’ll manage the study using a third-party research firm to execute the survey process and produce the initial benchmarking report and each year, you’ll make meaningful improvements based on the results
  • The content priorities at our national conference #XYPNLIVE, regional events—which currently include PAUSE (for growing firms) and XYPN Residency (for new advisors)—monthly CE webinars, and ongoing programming
  • Manage XYPN scholarship programs for the CFP® Exam, FPA Residency, and more
  • Manage and execute XYPN’s Annual Tech Survey
  • Help evaluate tools and services requested by members to determine if XYPN should formally partner and promote
  • Contribute a monthly post to XYPN’s advisor blog

Start Date: Immediately

Status: Full-time (40-45 hours/week)

Location: Bozeman, MT 

Department: Member Success

Reports to: Senior Director of Member Success

Direct Reports: Executive Business Coach, Marketing Coach, Academy Manager, Financial Planning and Process Coach and Sales Coach

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $92,596/year
  • Unlimited vacation days to maintain work-life harmony (we require that you take a minimum of 3 weeks of vacation per year)

    What You’ll Bring to the Table:

    • Authorized to live and work in the United States
    • Ability to design, develop, and deliver skills training aligned with business goals and initiatives to drive results in a performance-based learning culture
    • Knowledge of content design methodologies and various delivery methods; you know how to use data to optimize content and ensure it aligns with program strategy

    • You’re a solid leader and clear communicator, and have highly coveted analytical skills
    • 5+ years experience developing and executing content strategy
    • 5+ years experience in content/course development
    • The ability to convert content/expertise from subject matter experts (SME) into systematized tools, processes, and workflows
    • Experience managing and developing a team of full-time employees and independent contractors (ideally including experience managing virtual team members) with a proven track record of success
    • A willingness to not just oversee, but to also do many things; this means getting your hands dirty in the details
    • Proficiency with technology, and the patience and know-how for getting others up to speed with new technologies
    • Flexibility; daily and monthly tasks will quickly evolve and you need to be willing and able to roll with the punches
    • The confidence to implement new ideas and be held accountable for their results
