About the Position:

As the Director of XYBC, you’ll take charge of it all! You’ll constantly be on a treasure hunt to explore and discover the best ways to nurture and develop our bookkeeping service line, eagerly leading us into the next stage of growth. You can see a strategic plan and immediately know how to make it a reality. Results-driven? Check. Detail-oriented? Definitely. Dedicated? Beyond the shadow of a doubt. A natural leader? As XYBC’s valiant captain, you’ll join forces with the Chief Revenue Officer on the ins and outs of business operations. You and efficiency work together even better than a PBJ sandwich, and you blend people skills, business savvy, and an unbeatable work ethic into one neat package tied with a bow.

Most importantly, you know how to be the head cheerleader for your team; you see the best in everyone, and you can recognize the unique talent they’re bringing to the table. You’re pretty much the Gandalf of team training, support, and mentorship; you know all the right ways to elevate the skills within your team (wingardium leviosa, anyone?).

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Execute the strategic vision of this service line, developing comprehensive goals for performance, and achieving or exceeding established objectives

  • Achieve annual P&L objectives

  • Build and scale new revenue opportunities to expand beyond bookkeeping services

  • Attract, develop, and retain a team of high-performing accounting professionals

  • Oversee daily operations and implement our EOS tools to ensure the organization is consistently "rowing" together in the same direction

  • Responsible for executing the strategic business plan

  • Collaborate with the Chief Revenue Officer in developing broad goals for performance and growth strategies

  • Market and sell the XYBC service line to XYPN members and non-members

  • Utilize effective conflict resolution skills in a rapidly growing work environment

  • Identify opportunities for capital improvements across the organization (improve revenue, increase margin, reduce cost, and increase profitability) with increased efficiency

  • Lead, manage, and hold direct reports accountable for achieving agreed-upon commitments

  • Oversee the cultivation and management of healthy relationships with XYBC business partners and vendors

  • Consistently demonstrate a passion for values alignment, focus, simplicity, and clarity across the organization

  • Manage between 10 and 15 bookkeeping clients as needed

The Deets:

Start Date: Immediately

Status: Full-time (40-45 hours/week)

Location: Bozeman, MT or Minneapolis, MN

Reports to: Chief Revenue Officer (CRO)

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $89,412
  • Equity Program : All team members at XYPN are owners! We annually contribute an equivalent of 8% of your compensation into our ESOP as part your benefit
  • Unlimited vacation days to maintain work-life harmony (we require that you take a minimum of 3 weeks of vacation per year)
  • 8 paid holidays when the office is closed
  • 401(k) with match; you put in 6% and we put in 4.5%
  • 12 weeks of paid maternity/paternity leave for the birth or adoption of a child

  • $600/year to cover the cost of working with a financial planner, plus up to $500 toward the upfront fee

  • $2,000/year available in Professional Development Funds
  • A sabbatical program that includes a cash bonus and extra time off at 5, 10, and 15 years

  • $5,000 relocation package available to those moving to Bozeman, MT

What You’ll Bring to the Table

  • Legally authorized to live and work in the United States

  • BBA/BA/BS or similar degree in an applicable field or relevant experience

  • Proven results as a team leader or a similarly relevant role

  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics

  • A demonstrated execution mindset, and a record of success holding people accountable

  • Understanding of and ability to create a healthy organizational culture

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
