About the Position:

As a Compliance Specialist on Team XYPN, you’ll play an integral role in many of our initiatives, chief among them our top-rated and widely used Registered Investment Adviser initial firm registration service. Available exclusively to advisors in our Network, this core service has been built and continuously improved to help XYPN members register their firms seamlessly, efficiently, and without headache or hassle. The best part? They learn along the way. You’ll work closely with 15-25 XYPN advisors at a time over the course of the 6-12 week process, serving as their dedicated and trusted point of contact. You’ll help them draft their compliance documents, submit appropriate filings to State and SEC regulators, and guide them as they navigate additional registration requirements that may be unique to their state. The icing on the cake for them? You’ll communicate directly with regulators on their behalf to satisfy all regulatory requirements. The peace of mind you’ll provide in your role is truly priceless. If compliance, coordination, communication, and collaboration strike your fancy, then this could be the role for you.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Execute state and SEC registrations through our initial registration process
    • Prep and deliver core compliance documents for each registration as you walk members through the registration process
    • Review drafted documents and make any necessary changes before filing with the state and SEC regulatory divisions—you’re impressively accurate and attentive to detail
    • Take the strain off members by communicating with securities regulators on their behalf; you’ll answer questions, clarify requirements, and conduct regulatory research in numerous jurisdictions (state and federal)
    • Maintain accurate and timely records for each initial registration (we have a CRM and project management software to help you do the job, but you’re so detailed that you could easily do it without, NBD)
    • Collaborate with XYPN’s Compliance Team to constantly improve processes and workflows; complacency is your mortal enemy and progress your ally
    • Provide above-and-beyond service to XYPN members; communication will be clear, questions will be answered, and they’ll be happy as clams
    • Help out with our annual amendment filing process in the first quarter of every year; summer can’t hold a candle to ADV Update season, which will quickly become your favorite time of the year
    • Provide backup to your fellow Compliance team members on projects and tasks
    • Help create educational and instructional compliance materials, guides, templates, and other online resources (members seriously can’t get enough of this stuff)
    • Become a go-to for compliance questions

    The Deets:

    • Start Date: Immediately
    • Status: Full-time (40 - 45 hours/week w/flexible schedule)
    • Location: Bozeman, MT (ability to work virtually until coronavirus restrictions are lifted and we reopen our office)
    • Department: Compliance
    • Reports to: Director of Compliance

    Compensation & Benefits:

    • Salary: $51,616
    • Unlimited vacation days to maintain work-life harmony (we require that you take a minimum of 3 weeks of vacation per year)
      • 8 paid holidays when the office is closed
      • 401(k) with match; you put in 6% and we put in 4.5%
      • 12 weeks of paid maternity/paternity leave for the birth or adoption of a child
      • Health insurance w/employer contribution
      • Dental, Vision, Voluntary Life and AD&D, and Accident insurance options
      • Employer paid Life and AD&D insurance
      • Employer paid Long Term Disability coverage
      • $600/year to cover the cost of working with a financial planner, plus up to $500 toward the upfront fee
      • $250/quarter to spend on yourself specific to our core value of “Be Well Being You”
      • $500 donated to a non-profit organization of your choice when you volunteer 40 hours within the calendar year
      • $2,000/year available in Professional Development Funds
      • A sabbatical program that includes a cash bonus and extra time off at 5, 10, and 15 years
      • Subsidized employer-sponsored childcare through our internal child care program
      • $5,000 relocation package available to those moving to Bozeman, MT
      • Company-owned laptop computer provided
      • Please see our Policies and Procedures Manual to learn more about our company and benefit offerings

      Requirements

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

      Must-Haves

      • Authorized to live and work in the United States
      • Prior experience working with investment adviser regulation is preferred (but not required)

      • A love-love relationship with multi-tasking and a deep respect for deadlines
      • Cut-above communication skills that are rivaled only by your insanely impressive interpersonal skills
      • Proficiency leveraging cloud-based tech and an eagerness to learn new programs and solutions

      What Would Make Us Drool:

      • Prior experience working with investment adviser regulations and requirements of multiple jurisdictions as part of an RIA, compliance consulting company, or directly with a securities division (we’d seriously be swooning)
      • Prior experience with IARD and Web CRD systems and an understanding of Form ADV (or at least an appreciation for acronyms, because there are plenty of them in compliance)

      Application:

      • Cover Letter
      • Resume
      • Applications will be reviewed as they are received
